So. Another letter of “happiness” containing, as usual, a resolution on the case and a photograph of the offender’s vehicle from an automatic recording camera.

Such an interesting angle that you can see the bottom of the car.
Don’t go to a fortune teller, it’s clear that the camera is on the ground.
We look at the instructions on ChrisP, namely, the “preparing for work” section,5.3.

Installation of the tripod and assembly of the Mobile Photo Radar. [anti-gai.nilbug.ru]

Quote: Adjust the height of the tripod using the extendable legs and secure with the clamp screws. The recommended height of the site is 0.9 - 1.1 m from the road surface.

There is no option for installation on the ground at all.

mihaly4 I never wrote back on the topic of what punishment the police received. I think we need to remind police officers of the need to read the instructions for the equipment they are entrusted with. And not only read, but also perform.

The Chris "P radar now has an error of +/-2 km/h according to instructions from 2013. It was 1 km/h, the manufacturers added another 1 km/h to account for inaccuracies when installing the tripod. So, take this point into account when studying the texts received regulations. There are no longer any requirements for setting an angle of 25 degrees. True, in the description of the SI type I have not yet seen any changes in error, but this is the second thing.

I’ve already passed, TsAFAP refused to repent of violating the methodology and the prosecutor’s office did not notice any violations in such a photo, but if the record from the recorder had been preserved at that moment of fixing the APN (device on the ground) - then it would have been possible to fight effectively.

Hello Konstantin.

In accordance with the note to clause 43 of the Administrative Regulations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the execution of the state function of control and supervision of compliance by road users with requirements in the field of ensuring road safety (approved by Order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia dated March 2, 2009 No. 185) in order to ensure traffic control in emergency areas, as well as in cases of traffic control using photo and video recording of violations of traffic rules, a patrol car can be placed in places with visibility limited by natural breaks in the terrain, road turns, as well as street design elements road network.

As follows from paragraphs. 55-57 of the specified Administrative Regulations, the basis for implementing traffic control using special technical means operating in automatic mode and having the functions of photography, filming, video recording, or means of photography, filming, video recording (hereinafter referred to as means of automatic recording), is the decision of the governing body to use such technical means.

When monitoring road traffic, the following can be used: stationary automatic fixation devices placed on road transport infrastructure structures or special structures; mobile means of automatic fixation, located on sections of roads in the area of responsibility of posts and patrol routes.

The installation locations and operating mode of stationary automatic fixation devices are determined by the location approved by the head of the control body. The places and times of use of mobile automatic fixation devices are determined by the decision of the head of the unit on the order of duty for the employee.

The traffic rules do not provide for road signs that indicate the location of automatic restraint devices. Current legislation does not establish the obligations of traffic control authorities to notify drivers of the locations of automatic restraint devices.

As for warning drivers about these devices, the traffic police is obliged to notify drivers through the media about the receipt of such complexes and their use in their work. At the same time, the basic provisions of their technical structure should be explained and the principles of their operation should be outlined. The traffic police authorities must systematically inform the public about the number of traffic rules violations detected using these means.

I think it’s no secret to anyone what the main purpose of the KRIS photo radar complex is - to automatically record violations of traffic rules by drivers. Another thing is its characteristics.

However, first you should know that the stationary radar today has several common modifications - KRIS-S (stationary), as well as the mobile radar complex KRIS-P, which will be discussed today.

The radar, among other things, also successfully recognizes license plates and, what’s even more scary, immediately runs them through databases not only federal, but also regional, all the information received about the driver and his “Swallow” is sent to the nearest traffic police post.

Appearance, where they most often put what CRIS can do

According to custom, the KRIS-P radar is installed at the edge of the roadway, on a specialized tripod, and there will also be a battery right there. It is important to orient the photo radar complex in such a way, at such an angle, that it covers the entire road surface, each lane. Here, of course, motorists can rely on the negligence of traffic police officers, but they are also people and sometimes they want to eat as much as we do, so there is no need to rely too much.

There are legends about the “braininess” of traffic police officers and they are simply great, they know how to disguise themselves and their radars. Look, they managed to put the radar in the trash bin. Absolutely no “fawn”))

In general, I am wary of all objects in rows with the road, now the trash cans need to be inspected)) In fact, this is a special protective box (protecting the radar and battery from rain and so that enemies don’t steal it), but the fact that it looks like a trash can is into the hands of inspectors))

Well, you often have to see this wonderful device without a tripod, from afar it’s simply unrealistic to see it with your eyes, so a radar detector is definitely needed, or then don’t disturb it))

Although if you are presented with a photo from a radar that is practically lying on the ground, this is a violation of the operating rules and you can safely try to “get to the bottom” of the inspectors and you will be right.

The KRIS camera is good, capable of recording a violation and all data about the participants in the violation from a long distance, there is a speed meter, where would you be without it.

All recorded information is immediately sent either to the mobile headquarters of the traffic police, or to a more serious place, where a special computer quickly processes the data, forming from it a database of offenders, that is, you and me, who unknowingly ran into CRIS, but soon we will correct this situation . The computer also allows you to remotely configure the complex itself; for example, you can change the threshold speed or receive only certain data.

It is worth knowing that the CRIS sensor is superior to similar devices, usually older radar models, and can cut targets in the direction of their movement from a very long distance.

It is unlikely that it will be possible to prevent the radar complex from transmitting data about itself. It has several communication channels with the main computer, one of them is a telephone line, the more interesting is a GSM cellular connection. Also, the CRIS also has a radio module, so it can transmit information to the extreme community even through a radio channel. Naturally, all this is well encrypted.

You need to know the enemy by sight. Let's chat about the technical characteristics of CRIS-P

The speed cuts over 150 meters, usually measures from 20 to 250 km/h, the error is small, about + - 1 km/h.

Under good conditions, it takes photographs at 100 meters, otherwise, paired with infrared light, it can achieve clear photography at 50 meters.

Data is transmitted over a channel over a distance of up to 1.5 km, so if you see CRIS, you should count on a patrol car or a stationary traffic police post.

The radar has little memory, only 2 GB, but this is enough to store 9000 frames or even more, however, it is quite likely that no one will especially monitor the stationary complex and the memory will become clogged, but in the case of a mobile complex, which is the CRIS -P, counting on this is a last resort.

The battery plows for at least 8 hours, works at extreme temperatures, from -30 to +50 degrees. Unless high humidity can have an effect. Such a device serves for a long time and rarely fails, unfortunately. However, the enemy is not as terrible as they say.

Today there is no need to be especially afraid of the CRIS-P complex. The model is quite outdated and benefits from its more or less comfortable dimensions.

Almost any radar detector is capable of warning its beloved owner about such a danger with a clear sound signal. How far from the shooting distance he can do this is another matter.

In any case, you shouldn’t relax; after the signal, you should reduce the speed immediately, because it’s the radar that picks it up first, catches it, and takes a photo later in any case, even if you drop it to 20 km/h. You can try the option of driving around the radar on the other side, or turning off to the side of the road and waiting a couple of minutes, and then calmly and slowly cross the point with the threat.

Nowadays you can’t go anywhere in the country without a radar detector, but if you still manage to go on vacation without it and get a “lucky” letter, you can try to appeal it using holes in the legislation. However, only a few people do this because they want to run to the courts for a small amount. It’s better not to get caught, right?)) But it’s worth considering that the radar must be installed correctly (necessarily on a tripod, at a certain angle, etc.) and if there’s a problem, you can appeal. Watch the video above, there are useful things against CHRIS.

TOP models of radar detectors versus CRIS-P

There is no point in deluding yourself too much into the easy detection of the complex. Outdated models of radar detectors often fail to warn the car owner in time. Therefore, it won’t hurt to update your device, and a GPS receiver is already a must-have item in 2015, because in addition to the mobile CRIS, there is also a stationary CRIS.

(a nice thing for a tolerable 7,000 rubles. It has only positive or neutral reviews about itself. It has all the necessary ammunition, including a GPS receiver and a laser radiation detector. It is sensitive, and therefore is able to warn in advance about CRIS. The model is high-quality and modern, you can take it with confidence!

Street Storm STR-9000EX GP One kit

Price tag 6,000 rubles. A decent device with an interesting shape, since the GPS sensor is screwed to the device separately. The database is updated frequently and quickly, the same applies to the firmware. The gadget’s range of bands and frequencies is also fine. Detects all modern traffic police radars. A good model for the money, great reviews, people recommend it.

Since last year, mobile photo radar complexes “KRIS-P” have been operating in Kazakhstan. During this time, with their help, thousands of reckless drivers have been identified on the roads. But it turns out that not all pictures taken by such photo radars are legal.

Mikhail Klenchin

Famous Kazakh lawyer Mikhail Klenchin posted on my page in Facebook information about how KRIS-P photo radars should actually work.

“A most interesting document arrived in my hands,” writes the lawyer. – Operating instructions for the “KRIS-P” photo radar. The same one that raises so many questions and indignations among car enthusiasts.

First, about civilians operating photo radar. The instructions read:

“The “KRIS-P” complex is a complex technical device, which can only be operated by traffic police inspectors who have studied this operating manual and have been instructed.”

Still, I believe that the facts of detection of “incomprehensible” civilians with CRIS are nothing more than cases of its configuration for transfer to the customer, that is, directly to the traffic police authorities. However, if at least one case is identified where a violation is charged based on the results of work with photo radar by unauthorized civilians, this is a violation of operating rules and grounds for challenging the imposed penalty.

This is what photo radar looks like

As for the installation location of the photo radar, clause 5.2 of the Instructions directly states: “The controlled section of the road (50-60 meters long) on which the mobile photo radar (PF) will be installed must be straight (have no bends, turns or extensions).”

That is, it is not allowed to “radar” from around the corner

Here’s another interesting point: “The complex can simultaneously control no more than 2 lanes of traffic in one direction (i.e., either the 3rd and 4th lanes, or the 2nd and 3rd lanes, or the 1st and 2nd lane)". I would also like to note clause 5.3.1 of the Instructions “Installing a tripod”, which regulates the maximum permissible distances from the sensor to the roadway: - for monitoring 3-4 lanes - up to 5 meters,
- for control of 2-3 lanes - up to 9 meters,
- for control of 1-2 lanes - up to 13 meters,
— to control 1 lane — up to 17 meters. This means that

and, accordingly, the basis for checking the legality of the imposed penalty. And this is very important. The instructions in clause 5.4.1 “Photo capture mode” state that the curb must be visible in the frame!

If you have been sent a photograph in which the curb is not visible, you should know that the photograph was taken in violation of the instructions and such evidence should be considered unacceptable.

This is how the KRIS-P photo radar works

And finally, I would like to note that Section 6 of the Instructions provides for the ability to edit and delete records in the database (yes, yes!):

“To edit information about a vehicle in the database, you must select the corresponding row in the table and click the Edit button. To delete records from the database, you must select the corresponding table row and click the Delete/Return button.”

Something like that. Draw conclusions.

Unfortunately, we do not have a regulatory legal act directly regulating the use of photo radars, we only have these instructions.
