There are several ways to take a screenshot – a screenshot.
Using special programs for taking screenshots, built-in browser plugins, and using the standard method using hot keys.
Let's start in order - you can take a screenshot in the Yandex browser using a special “Screenshoter” plugin. To install it;
- In the Yandex browser, click on the sandwich in the upper right corner;
- In the menu that opens, select “Add-ons”;
- Scroll to the end of the list to the link “Catalog of add-ons for Yandex browser”, click on it;
- In the search bar, on the Yandex browser extensions website, write the request “Screenshoter” and click Enter;
- Select from the proposed options the “Screenshoter for Listick.ru” add-on;
- The plugin installation page will open - click on the green button “Add to Yandex browser”;
- Next, click “Install extension”;
An icon in the form of a small camera will appear in the upper right corner of the Yandex browser; to activate the add-on, you need to click on it. A window with initial user settings will appear.
- Click the “Continue” button.
Screenshots can be stored in the cloud
To further work with the extension, you need to register on the cloud; click “Create an account” or “Login” if you already have an account on this resource. After registration, you can log in to the cloud through social networks by clicking on the corresponding icon.
This extension has a number of advantages: you can save your pictures not on your computer, but on the cloud, sort them, edit them, create notes, and links to your screenshots.
- Move saved screenshots: you can move your screenshots around the cloud storage window and arrange them as convenient;
- Download to computer;
- Share them on social networks;
- Clicking on the screen automatically opens the page where the screenshot was taken;
- You can create notes in the storage and upload previously created screenshots or any images and photographs.
When you need to take a screenshot, simply click on the camera icon, change the size of the image by grabbing any corner with the mouse cursor and dragging to adjust the area that needs to be saved. Then click “Continue”, the file is automatically uploaded to storage, where you can do whatever you want with the image.
You can take screenshots directly in your browser
The latest versions of the Yandex browser already have built-in functions for taking screenshots, which only need to be activated in the settings.
- In order to activate the Yandex browser extension for taking Lightshot screenshots, click on the sandwich in the upper right corner of the Yandex browser;
- Select “Add-ons”;
- In the window that opens, opposite the “Lightshot Screenshot” add-on, set the value to “on.”
An icon in the form of a purple pen will appear in the active add-ons panel; clicking on it automatically turns on the screenshot function; select the area you want to photograph with the mouse cursor.
Useful software - program for screenshots
You can also install a special program for taking screenshots; it will not only work in the Yandex browser, but also in any other browser, and you can simply take pictures of any screen state, regardless of the active application or program.
- Download the Lightshot program from the official website - https://app.prntscr.com/ru/
- Open the folder with the downloaded file, and double-click to start the installation by selecting “Open”;
- We select the language;
- We accept the terms of the license agreement and click “Next”;
The program is installed: now in order to take a screenshot you need to click on the program icon in the lower right corner of the screen, in the tray. Select the area for the screenshot and save it. Or press the PrintScreen key on the keyboard and do the same manipulations.
As you can see, there are enough ways to take screenshots: third-party software, built-in plugins and extensions, and standard methods. Such as the PrintScreen key, with which, in order to take screenshots, you do not need to install any software.
It is enough to press the button at the right moment and save the screen, having previously edited it in the standard Paint program.
You can create and edit screenshots, save them to your Yandex.Disk, and also share them.
If you want to take a screenshot and then highlight something on it, use the following hotkeys:

A new screenshot will automatically open in a graphics editor.
To change keyboard shortcuts:
Select menu item File -> Settings.
Click in the field to the right of the desired action.
Press the new keyboard shortcut.
If you want to disable one of the shortcuts, click the icon in the field to the right of the desired action. To disable all hotkeys for taking screenshots at once, disable the option Keyboard shortcuts.
Note. Screenshots are saved in PNG format by default. To change the format to JPEG:
Select menu item File -> Settings.
In the Format list, select JPEG.
Create a screenshot
When you edit an image and click the Save button, an edited copy of the image will be saved to Yandex.Disk. The original file will remain unchanged.

In principle, taking screenshots of a computer monitor screen is not difficult - just press the key "Print Screen". In this case, it performs a function similar to a button "Descent" on the camera. In this case, the completed screenshot is automatically saved in the computer’s memory. To see it live you need a graphic editor, for example, Microsoft Paint, built-in by default in Windows. Among other things, the Internet is full of programs for taking screenshots. Of course, they are more convenient in terms of work, but still these are third-party programs that have access to their own online image storage in their algorithm. Until recently, I also used such a program called Joxi. And then, just out of curiosity, I took it and tried the method, which I’ll tell you about below.
To work, we will need a Yandex account to have access to Yandex disk. If you don't know what kind of disk this is, you can read about it. We will also use the program Faststone Image Viewer. You can talk about her. Of course, you will also need your computer and your hands. But this is an absolute requirement, but you can use Faststone Image Viewer as needed.
Must be installed on your computer Yandex Disk program. Don't you have one? Then download it from the link. Having such a program on your computer makes it possible to quickly synchronize information and quickly upload files larger than 2 GB to cloud storage. You will also have the opportunity to use another function of Yandex Disk, which is not available in the simple WEB version, namely, you will have the opportunity to take, process, save screenshots and share links to them.
The help for this function says that a screenshot can be taken either by pressing the key "Print Screen", or by pressing the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl" + "Shift" + "1". The first method didn't work for me, but the second one actually works. In this case, after pressing the keys, you need to press the left mouse button, on the monitor screen the usual cursor is replaced by a cross - a crosshair and now you can manually select the required area of the future screenshot. Immediately after releasing the mouse button, an editor window will open in front of you, in which you will see your screenshot.
Now try using the Start menu to look at the list of programs installed on your computer. Find the “Yandex.Disk” folder in it and open it. You will see two icons like this:
Press "Screenshots in Yandex.Disk" and a screenshot program window will appear on the monitor screen.
The purpose of the buttons on its interface is clear from the names. For convenience, you can install its shortcut in the taskbar. But this is a matter of taste and necessity. In my opinion, there is no particular need for this, since it is much more convenient to use hotkeys:
In most cases, you can exit any mode at any intermediate stage of work by pressing the key "Esc" on the keyboard if the program window close icon is not visible on the monitor.
There are several shortcomings in this method of taking screenshots. You probably noticed the primitiveness of the built-in editor. It is quite enough for an ordinary screen chat, that is, when efficiency is needed, and the quality of the explanatory notes is not as important as the information contained in them. Only three fonts, dull colors and primitive frames are clearly not suitable for serious design. If you are preparing images for a blog, then you can’t do without a third-party editor. Until this moment Yandex.Disk provided Internet users with tools for working with popular types of data: viewing photos and videos, listening to music, automatically downloading data from computers and mobile devices to the cloud. Now Yandex.Disk provides an additional opportunity to work with screenshots, which are one of the most popular types of data exchanged between users on the network.
Yandex allows you to create and edit screenshots, save them to the user’s computer or to your own Yandex.Disk, as well as share a public link to the screenshot by sending it via email, social networks or instant messengers.
As a result, the user does not need to separately upload screenshots; they can be quickly and conveniently edited, and can be easily shared with friends online.
The editor is available to everyone who uses the application Yandex.Disk for Windows and Mac OS X platforms.

Taking a screenshot in Yandex.Disk
There are three ways to perform this operation:
1. Using Hot Keys:
To take a screenshot of the entire screen, press the key on the keyboard PrintScreen;
· to take a screenshot of a specific area of the screen, use a keyboard shortcut Shift + Ctrl + 1.
2. Performing the required operation via the tray iconWindows:
a. click icon Yandex.Disk in the Windows tray;
b. go to menu Screenshots;
c. select the desired action from the list (Figure 1):

· Take a screenshot of the entire window;
· Take a screenshot of the window.

3. Use shortcut on the desktop, appearing after installation Yandex.Disk. Double-clicking the left mouse button on the shortcut opens an application window containing buttons for taking a screenshot of a separate area, window or the entire screen (Figure 2).

A new screenshot automatically opens in a graphic editor (Figure 3), which allows you to perform the following operations with the image:
· draw arbitrary lines using a marker;
· insert simple geometric shapes, arrows or text;
· crop the image.
The color of any element can be customized using the color palette.

Editing images stored on local disk
In addition to screenshots taken using the service Yandex.Disk, the application's editor also allows you to work with images that are stored locally, without downloading to Disk. There are two ways to open an image from a local disk in the editor:
1. Perform the required operation via the Windows tray icon:
a. click icon Yandex.Disk in the Windows tray;
b. go to menu Screenshots -> Open file in the editor(Figure 4);
c. in the window that opens, select the desired file and click Open.

2. Launch the application using a shortcut on the desktop and perform the appropriate action in the window that opens (Figure 5).

Saved images are placed in a folder Screenshots on Yandex.Disk.
To open it you need:
1. click the icon Yandex.Disk in the Windows tray;
2. go to menu Screenshots -> Open Screenshots folder(Figure 6).

Using Hot Keys
For ease of working with screenshots in the program Yandex.Disk hotkeys are provided when taking screenshots and when working with a graphic editor.
To change the keyboard shortcuts for taking screenshots, you need to follow these steps:
1. click the icon Yandex.Disk in the Windows tray;
2. go to menu Settings -> Screenshots;
3. select the desired action and press the button Change combination(Figure 7).

Processing a screenshot/image from a local disk is performed by the user in a separate window (Figure 8).

Yandex.Disk provides the following functions for working with images:
· Adding additional elements:
o arrows;
o text (with the ability to select the font and background of the text);
o geometric shapes (rectangle, circle, etc.);
o free-form lines using a marker.
Any additional element can be changed in size and color.
· Changing the image:
o blur selected areas;
o framing;
o change the scale (increase/decrease).
