Solving problems with IP-TV

1. If you use a router, there may be several reasons for problems with IP TV (the router does not support IP TV or it is not configured). That's why:

  • Connect the cable directly to the computer, set up a VPN on the computer and turn it on
  • Set up your router

2. If you do not use a router, then go to step 3.

3. Disable all security programs. IP TV does not work with some antivirus programs. For example, Kaspersky, Avast (they block IP TV).

Note:

If you use VLC player to watch IP TV, then it will not work when the VPN connection is running.

Notes

1. Only individual subscribers connected to the Internet from K TELECOM LLC can use the IP TV service if technically possible. Viewing programs is only possible on a computer.

2. To simultaneously access the Internet and IP TV, you must use the first link to the player.

3. When accessing the Internet using Wi-Fi routers, poor-quality broadcasting of programs may occur.

4. There is no additional subscription fee for the IP TV service.

The largest number of providers is concentrated in the capital of Russia and the Moscow region. Almost every home is serviced by several companies at once. One of these Moscow operators is Morton Telecom. It delivers digital services to homes under the leadership of the famous provider Rostelecom. What are these services and what specific rates are offered to current and potential clients? What is the opinion of the subscribers themselves about the company? How to create an application if you decide to connect to Morton Telecom?

Morton Telecom provider: positive and negative, tariff plans

The Morton Telecom provider has been providing Internet and telephone lines to homes and setting up interactive TV since 2010. Initially, he was part of the MORTON company, which specialized in the construction of houses for work, study and life. In 2016, digital services giant Rostelecom acquired the telecom operator. Since that time, Morton Telecom has been operating under the auspices of the most famous Internet provider in Russia.

The Morton Telecom provider previously belonged to the Morton construction company, but was purchased by Rostelecom in 2016.

There are many varied and contradictory reviews on the network regarding the activities of Morton Telecom. Many users talk about such obvious shortcomings:

  1. Inadequate ratio of price and Internet speed. Morton has expensive Internet compared to other providers, even at the capital level.
  2. Paid and expensive telephony connection - 6 thousand rubles. The amount is paid once, but it is clearly too high compared to the cost of a similar service from other companies. Exceptions include WWII participants. A tariff of three thousand rubles is valid for home front workers, disabled people of groups 1 and 2, veterans of military operations and military service and other socially vulnerable segments of the population.
  3. Limited territorial coverage. The coverage area includes only a few cities in the Moscow region and areas of Moscow itself, and not all of them. The number of subscribers is only 40 thousand individuals and 2 thousand legal entities. This is due to the fact that the provider is mainly focused on new buildings.
  4. Inconvenient personal account from Rostelecom. Many customers complain that they cannot understand its interface.

Despite these shortcomings, the provider still has something to boast about:

  1. Variety of tariffs for TV and Internet. There are both expensive and budget options (but at low speed).
  2. Stable Internet speed. It corresponds to what is stated.
  3. Rare crashes. No provider is insured against line accidents.
  4. High-quality TV without ripples and with a stable signal (does not disappear).

Tariffs for working on the Internet

The list of tariffs for home broadband Internet is truly diverse - from high-speed to budget. They have original names - all the colors of the rainbow in order:

  1. “Red” is the most expensive and fastest tariff with speeds up to 500 MB/s. The cost is steep - 2,200 rubles/month, but with such access there will be no problems with downloading large files, watching movies and videos online with high HD quality, as well as playing in online services, for example, World of Tanks .
  2. “Orange” - up to 200 MB/s for 1,400 rubles/month. The package is also not cheap - it is suitable for people who download a lot from the Internet, work on the Internet, play or watch videos, TV series, films.

Orange and yellow tariffs are the most expensive

  3. “Yellow” - up to 100 MB/s for 900 rubles/month. This tariff is suitable for use by the whole family, even if there are 2-3 computers in an apartment or house. The package allows you to quickly perform almost all operations on the Internet.
  4. “Green” is the first budget tariff in the line with speeds of up to 70 MB/s for 650 rubles/month. The provider recommends it for the average user who needs to download files from torrents, communicate on social networks, and play online games.

If you do not need too high Internet speed, choose a green or blue tariff

  5. “Blue” - up to 50 MB/s for 500 rubles/month. If you do not play in online services, but simply communicate on Skype, social networks, or manage email, this package is for you.
  6. “Blue” - up to 20 MB/s for 450 rubles/month. If you want to save money or you just need the Internet to browse some “light” sites, search for information on Google or Yandex and communicate in simple messengers (without video), choose this tariff.

The blue tariff is only suitable for viewing non-resource-intensive sites and communicating in instant messengers

  7. “Purple” - up to 1 MB/s for 150 rubles/month. The slowest package can only be used to check email or view reference information, for example, to find out the phone number of a hospital, pharmacy, etc. It is social and is connected in the apartments of pensioners, disabled people, war veterans, large families and other socially vulnerable segments of the population . Applications for this tariff from other persons are considered individually.

Morton Telecom also has a separate list of tariffs for owners of private houses, cottages, and townhouses. It can be viewed in the office, during a conversation with an operator on the phone, or after sending a request by email.

Morton Telecom offers a separate list of tariffs for private homes, which can be obtained upon application

TV channel selections

Morton Telecom offers the same tariffs for home TV as the Rostelecom provider. Morton's clients are even supplied with the same set-top boxes. There are two options for use: “Interactive TV” and its improved version “Interactive TV 2.0”. Both work through a special attachment. It allows you to access the Internet from the TV, as well as manage content (for example, record TV shows) and the viewing itself (for example, pause).

Morton Telecom offers two interactive TV options

Tariffs for two options come with the same names and prices. However, they differ in the number of channels - in the updated version there are usually fewer of them. Version 2.0 also lacks the Premier package. Let's tell you more about the packages using the example of the usual use case “Interactive TV”:

For those who want to connect a landline phone

The company provides a choice of three tariff plans for landline telephony:

How to start using services from Morton Telecom

The provider accepts applications for connection in three ways: an application on the official website online, a call or a visit to the operator’s office.

On the official website - check the possibility of connection and create an application

The Morton Telecom provider's resource contains all the basic information necessary for potential clients who are interested in its services. There you can immediately check whether your home is connected to the network of this operator, and immediately place an order for connection, if possible:

  1. Launch the main page of the provider's resource. Scroll down a little to the red “Check connection” button.

Click on the “Test connection” button on the right side of the site

  2. Click on it, a site dialog box will appear with two drop-down menus. Enter your address.

Enter your address in the two drop-down menus

  3. In the first menu, select your area, and in the second - the street.

Select your neighborhood from the list

  4. When the third menu appears, select the house number and click on the red “Check Address” button.

After specifying all the necessary data, click on the “Check Address” button

  5. You can also simply look on the map to see if Morton Telecom operates in your home or at least on your street. To do this, on the main page, click on the “View coverage” link under the “Connect” button. You will be taken to a map - click on your area to zoom in.

Zoom in on your area on the map

  6. You can also use the list of areas to get closer. Click on the first red circle on the left in the lower corner of the map with the image of two high-rise buildings and select your neighborhood.

Select your city from the list on a dark background

  7. Now click on your home in the additional list that appears under the area. If the house is connected, there will be a red circle with an image of a connector for the Ethernet cable.

If your area is on the list, click on its name

Another way to find out about connectivity is to search in a simple list:

If you are convinced that there is a provider in your home or that its network is at least on your street, proceed directly to creating an application:

  1. On the same site, find the white and red “Connect” button on the top panel with the names of services and click on it if you do not want to first familiarize yourself with the list of tariffs.

On the provider’s website, click on the “Connect” button

  2. On the page with the application form, enter all the required information (it is marked with asterisks), select one or more services by checking the appropriate boxes, and then click on the “Submit Application” button.

Fill out all fields of the application for connection to Morton Telecom

  3. You can get to the same application page through the bottom menu. Scroll down the main page to the service columns and follow the “How to connect” link under the appropriate service.
  4. If you want to choose a tariff plan, go to one of the “Internet”, “Television” or “Telephony” sections. Browse the list and click on the “Select” button on the tile that corresponds to your tariff. For example, let's choose the fastest Internet - 500 MB/s.

Select the required tariff from the list and click on the “Connect” button

  5. If necessary, select network equipment or a set-top box if you need them. A window with the connection cost will appear on the right side of the window. Below it there will be a panel for the application.

If you don't have a router, select equipment from the list

  6. Fill out all the lines in the form - district, street, house, apartment, name, contact phone number. If you wish, leave a comment - you can immediately ask any question. When a specialist from the sales department calls you back, the first thing he will do is answer it and explain all the details. When filled out, click on the red “Submit connection request” button. Expect a call from a company representative soon.

A panel will appear on the right side of the window - fill out all the lines and submit your application

Through the joint personal account of Morton and Rostelecom

As noted earlier, Morton and Rostelecom have one common platform for subscribers’ personal accounts. We will tell you in the instructions how to apply for a new additional service by first registering with the service:

  1. To go to the page for logging into your account from the official Morton resource, click on the “Personal Account” item, which is located at the top right or open the required page using this link.

Go to the Rostelecom website to log into your personal account using the special button in the upper right corner

  2. Enter your email or phone number, write your password (don't worry, it will be hidden by dots). Click on the “Login” button, which will become bright and clickable.

Enter your personal account information and click on the “Login” button

  3. If you have not previously registered with the Rostelecom service, immediately open the “Register” section. Fill out the form carefully and click on the “Continue” button. Activate your account using the code that will be sent to you by email or phone (depending on what you used to register).

Fill out all lines of the application in your personal account

  4. Follow the rule - start typing the name of the area, street or house or apartment number, and then be sure to select the appropriate item in the drop-down menu (help). This is necessary so that the system can correctly recognize your address. Click on the “Continue” button.

Use the help in the drop-down menu when entering an address

  5. The system will check whether the cable can be installed in your home. If yes, a list of tariffs for the services selected in the first tab will be presented. Decide on a plan.
  6. In the next application tab, select the equipment you need.
  7. In the “Application information” section you will see the entire package of services collected (tariff and equipment). If you are satisfied with the total price, click on the “Submit Application” button and wait for the operator to call you back. If you send it during business hours, a company representative will call you back on the same day.

Subscription department

You can agree on connecting the necessary services to your apartment at the company’s office. An employee of the subscriber department will provide you with information on services, connection conditions, and will also tell you whether it is possible in your case. If everything suits you, you can set a convenient date and time for the specialist to arrive.

There are several offices in the Moscow region. You can find out their location on the official Morton Telecom website. Click on the second red circle with a picture of a house, and then select your area - the map will immediately zoom in and you can find out at which address to look for an office.

Find an office in your area on the map and go there with your passport

The working hours of all offices are as follows: from Tuesday to Friday - from 9:00 to 20:00, Saturday - from 9:00 to 18:00, Sunday and Monday - days off.

Technical support

You can contact us with any questions (connection, problem with already ordered services, etc.) by calling the toll-free support number - 8 (800) 350–00–77. The service operates around the clock, unlike the office. Suggestions, applications and complaints are also accepted by email at [email protected]. Applications in free form are also accepted at [email protected].

Morton clients can also contact technical support through a request on the website. Simply go to this page and fill out all the fields, including the subject of the request, the nature of the problem, the name of the subscriber or contact person, and telephone number.

Fill out all lines of the request, send it and wait for a response from a specialist

I'll try to summarize briefly. I want to warn you right away that it is not necessary to rely only on my nonsense. There are a lot of subtleties in this matter. For example, the worst problem I have is that the box is made on a Realtek chip and its manufacturers have made a hardware restriction to support Wi-FI whistles only on certain Realtek chips, and those that are no longer sold.

Therefore, read the instructions carefully

It should work from a common house antenna, the main thing is that the TV supports this technology.

pros:

shareware, pay the management company only for the antenna

minuses:

not working yet and it is unknown when Morton will start moving

For the purity of the experiment, the list of channels and setup instructions are under the spoiler

To work, you need either a special set-top box (preferably with support for moServices), or a TV with Smart TV support, or through a computer with an HDMI output

There are a whole bunch of providers on the network; you don’t have to bother with MTel.

MTel

Only Dune consoles are officially supported.

We are ready to either sell ours (prices, by the way, are more or less adequate) or reflash yours (but only in Shchitnikovo)

The opportunity to test is not given under any circumstances.

Despite the fact that the website indicates a minimum cost per month of 80 rubles for 51 channels, Kira says that the only option they are currently working with is 132 channels for 300 rubles per month.

In order to get the entire set of channels like other providers from Morton, you must be prepared to pay from 950 to 1300 rubles per month.

I can’t say anything about the quality in the area, but the Shchitnikovskys are not happy. Rostelecom is more praised.

Search the web for free playlists

The task is labor-intensive, you need to set up a UDP proxy, and you should understand that the freebie does not last long.

It will work on a computer, after dancing with tambourines on consoles that support loading m3u playlists, I won’t say anything on TV with smart phones.

You can try to scan our network for Morton servers, but I got the impression that Morton does not maintain its own servers, but simply provides access to third parties.

If anyone is interested, there are a couple of good links under the spoiler.

The Shchitnikovites found only a playlist of free channels from Domolinka on the forum. I couldn’t launch it on a whim, so I’m not posting it here.

GlavTV

It can only be classified as IPTV conditionally, but it is quite an interesting service.

Aggregator of links to video resources. You can find any films, any programs. Everything with a description and a fairly user-friendly interface.

You can use it from any set-top box, the main thing is that moservices is supported. It seems that some SmartTVs have support.

In principle, you can even make it work with playlists, but, in my opinion, it’s not very convenient.

At moservices it is better to do this with the IPTVList plugin

RodinaTV,

A serious provider with a large range of channels.

There is a test (for half an hour). One subscription is valid for all devices from one IP address.

Support for a limited set of set-top boxes (Dune and via a plugin in GlavTV). It is possible to view from tablets.

Cost 800 rubles per month.

Kartina.TV

Very similar to Motherland with the following differences:

A little more expensive, Test for 3 days, but the multi only works on 3 devices at the same time.

This is already cardsharing, so it’s cheaper. 160-320 rubles per month, but it seems like there are only 95 channels.

There is a test for 2 hours, but it didn’t work.

I liked it better than i-Ghost. More channels at a comparable cost per month (320 rubles).

There is a test for a day. It seems like a fairly clear picture.

Torrent-TV

Television based on P2P technologies. I won’t say how legal this is.

More than 420 channels. There are clients for Android tablets.

There is a test for 3 days. Cost 150 rubles per month.

So far at this level. I am ready to answer clarifying questions, with the exception of one “What is better?”

Because, in my opinion, everyone should bear responsibility for their choice.
